Hyderabad: Telangana Transmission Corporation Limited (TGTRANSCO) has successfully restored power supply to affected areas after heavy rains due to the Cyclone Montha damaged the transmission infrastructure at two key substations in the state.

The Chairman and Managing Director of TGTRANSCO D Krishna Bhaskar, reviewed restoration efforts following water ingress at the 132 KV KM Pally substation in Nalgonda District, where equipment including feeder bays, isolators and AB switches had been submerged. Technical teams immediately arranged alternate supply from other substations and took two feeders out of service through manual circuit breaker tripping.

“Repairs were completed quickly and both feeders have been restored to service,” said a TGTRANSCO spokesperson. The swift action prevented by any disruption in supply to consumers in the area.

In a separate incident, the 132 KV Narsampet-Gudur feeder at Nekkonda substation in Warangal district tripped due to the heavy rains. Following rectification work, the line was restored and normal power supply was resumed.

The corporation has ordered all field engineers to maintain heightened alert levels and directed electricity staff to remain at headquarters to handle any emergencies. Central breakdown gangs at all substations have been kept operational for immediate response to technical issues.

TGTRANSCO also commended engineering teams for maintaining satisfactory power supply across the state during the challenging weather conditions.
