Two-year Congress rule undone 10-year BRS development in Telangana: KTR

BRS working president KT Rama Rao launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy during a roadshow in Shaikpet, accusing the Congress of derailing Telangana’s economy and dismantling welfare schemes. He declared that a BRS victory in the Jubilee Hills bypoll would signal a political reset and pave the way for K Chandrashekhar Rao’s return.

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao charged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy with ruining Telangana’s economy in just two years and undoing a decade of development achieved under K Chandrashekhar Rao’s leadership.

He declared that the BRS victory in Jubilee Hills bypoll would mark the beginning of Telangana’s political course correction and Chandrashekhar Rao’s return as Chief Minister.

“When Telangana was formed, the Congress handed over the State with Rs 85,000 crore debt, power cuts, and water scarcity. But KCR did not complain. Instead, he worked to make Telangana a frontrunner on all fronts. Today, Revanth Reddy only whines while pushing the State back into crisis,” he said, recalling how Chandrashekhar Rao transformed a resource-starved Telangana into one of India’s fastest-growing States.

Addressing a massive roadshow in Shaikpet on Friday in support of the party candidate Maganti Sunitha, the BRS working president said the Congress inducted former cricketer Mohd Azharuddin into the Cabinet due to fear of losing Jubilee Hills with BRS gaining ground.

“Congress knows it will lose Jubilee Hills. If people ensure their candidate forfeits the deposit, they will be forced to start implementing their 420 false promises across the State,” he reiterated.

He contrasted Chandrashekhar Rao’s governance with the Congress government’s two years of failure. “In 2014, per capita income was Rs 1 lakh; KCR raised it to Rs 3.87 lakh, making Telangana number one in India. Now, the State is slipping again because of the Congress’s incompetence in attracting investments and worse, driving away those who came to invest in the State,” he said.

The Shaikpet division turned into a sea of pink as thousands thronged the streets to welcome Rama Rao during his roadshow in support of BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha for the Jubilee Hills bypoll.

He received a rousing welcome on the first day of the roadshow, which was held in Shaikpet division covering Shaikpet Nala, OU Colony road, Peace City Colony, Shree Ram Temple, Samtha Colony, and Aditya Nagar areas, amid loud cheers of “Jai KCR, Jai BRS, Jai Telangana” and “Vote for Car.”

Listing the BRS government’s achievements, Rama Rao pointed to uninterrupted power supply, safe drinking water under Mission Bhagiratha, massive irrigation works, and the transformation of Hyderabad with 42 flyovers.

“We built over 1,022 Gurukul residential schools, gave dignity to women through Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak, and helped every family including newborns to the elderly. That is governance, but not the chaos we see today,” he remarked.

He accused the Congress of dismantling welfare schemes, halting distribution of double-bedroom housing, and demolishing poor people’s homes under the guise of “Indiramma Rajyam”.

“They promised Rs 4,000 pensions, scooters for girls, 20,000 litres free water — what have they delivered? Nothing but bulldozers and empty talk,” he roared, as crowds cheered.

“Vaade toh haseen karte hain, par nibhaana bhool jaate hain. Aag laga ke seene main, bujhana bhool jaate hain, (They make beautiful promises, but forget to fulfil them. They ignite a fire in the heart, but forget to extinguish it.)” he summed up the Congress rule in a Shayari.

The former Minister charged that the Congress government had corrupted Telangana’s economy, driving away industries and crippling small workers like auto drivers.

“Under KCR, Telangana stood first. Under Revanth, it is falling last,” he said, adding that irresponsible statements by the Chief Minister had scared off investors.

Appealing to voters, he said, “If the Congress loses Jubilee Hills, Telangana will win. Take their money if they offer it, but vote for the Car and demand for the pending dues from the Congress government. Let Jubilee Hills decide the future of this State,” he urged.
