Hyderabad: Hyderabad: In a rather mysterious case that has piqued the curiosity of employees working in Hyderabad’s IT corridor, a parked aircraft—spotted in front, beside, or behind several offices—has become the latest Reddit buzz. Numerous users have taken to the subreddit ‘r/hyderabad’ to post photos of the plane and ask if anyone in the city knows why it’s parked there.
Going by the various photographs, the aircraft is seen parked on open land opposite T-Hub in Hyderabad.
User ‘u/Even_Cauliflower2651’ posted a photograph of the plane from what appears to be his or her workplace. This sparked a flurry of responses from fellow Hyderabadis, especially those working nearby, who shared their own images of the aircraft from different angles.
Along with the photo, the user also asked if anyone knew the mystery behind the “abandoned” plane. “Does anyone know what’s the story of this abandoned plane?” read the post.
While no one seemed to have a confirmed answer, one user, ‘u/Explorer0405’, claimed that the aircraft was brought to the location by the popular food chain Pista House, with plans to open an aeroplane-themed restaurant.
“This was brought here by Pista House or some big chain to start a plane restaurant, which didn’t take off. So it’s still there, waiting for its next owner. I wish the government would take it and create a museum or something—for people who can’t afford a plane ride. At least they could get to see one. Or make it a content zone—these influencers need this,” the post read.
However, the comment remains unverified, as there is no official confirmation regarding the aircraft’s origin or purpose.
Meanwhile, some witty users saw the humorous side and flooded the thread with tongue-in-cheek remarks. While one quipped, “The restaurant that never took off,” another joked, “It is said in Bhagyanagara Purana that the first humans landed here in that plane, liked the place, and stayed to build what we call today as Hyderabad.”
Our personal favourite? A comment that said, “This Kingfisher plane never had a good time,” in reference to Kingfisher Airlines’ tagline, “King of Good Times.”
That said, where do you think the aeroplane came from?
Does anyone know what’s the story of this abandoned plane?
