Theft attempt at Laxmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Adilabad
An unidentified thief made a vain bid to steal money from a hundi in Sri Laxmi Narasimha Swamy Devasthanam in Adilabad district
Adilabad: Unidentified persons attempted to decamp with a hundial from the ancient Sri Laxmi Narasimha Swamy Devasthanam and a sub-temple at Jainath mandal headquarters on Friday night.
Police said an attempt was made to lift the hundial containing offerings by devotees from a Shivalayalam and the famed shrine between 1.30 am and 2 am. However, the miscreants dumped the hundial on the temple premises and fled the spot after failing to take it away.
Based on a complaint lodged by local residents, a case was registered and investigations were taken up. Special teams were formed to nab the offenders, while CCTV footage was being scanned to identify the culprits. Police suspect that three persons from the village might be behind the attempt.
