Hyderabad: Aircraft maintenance engineers are likely to be among the most sought-after in the year 2025.

A list of 15 jobs that are on the rise compiled by LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network, has aircraft maintenance engineer job topping the list, followed by robotic technician, closing managers and building information modelling technician.

As Indian aviation is on the boom, with an increasing number of people opting for domestic and international air travel, there is a demand for aircraft maintenance engineers. Greater Hyderabad, Greater Delhi, and Mumbai Metropolitan Region top in hiring aircraft maintenance engineers.

Second on the list is the robotics technician. With automation transforming the industry, there is a greater need for robotic technicians to build, assemble, test and maintain robotic systems. Meanwhile, closing managers who cater to clients interested in real estate projects also have adequate job opportunities.

The other jobs on the rise list are Building Information Modelling (BIM) Technician Sustainability Analyst, Behavioural Therapist, Travel Specialist, Mechanical Engineer, and others.

The LinkedIn Economic Graph researchers who examined millions of jobs started by LinkedIn members from January 1, 2022, to July 31, 2024, to calculate a growth rate for each job title have listed these jobs on the rise in 2025. Almost two-thirds (65 per cent) of this year’s jobs on the rise roles are new to the India list, and half (50 per cent) of these roles did not exist 25 years ago, the report revealed.

‘4 out of 5 looking for new job’
Over 4 in 5 (82 per cent) professionals in India plan to look for a new job this year, according to new research by LinkedIn. As per the research, more than two-thirds (69 per cent) of Indian HR professionals feel it has become more challenging to find qualified talent for a role, signalling a necessary shift in the way professionals will need to apply for – and land – a job in 2025.

Several professionals are applying to as many jobs as possible, but this strategy is not effective. In fact, 49 per cent of job seekers are applying to more jobs than ever, but are hearing back less, as per the research.

“The job market is tough, but it is a reminder for Indians to take a more thoughtful approach to their job search,” said Nirajita Banerjee, Career Expert and Senior Managing Editor of LinkedIn India.
