Hyderabad: While a few people eat to live, there are a few who live to eat and these ‘Hungry Indians’ – Manideep Manchala and his schoolmate Ramya Vangala – belong to the latter. To address their immense love for food, the duo began exploring several food places in Hyderabad, which slowly converted into a food blogging page on Instagram with over 60K followers currently.
“I always loved to explore new food places and cuisines. Back then, I would just upload the pictures on Snapchat. Slowly, Ramya and I decided to create an Instagram page to post about new food places in the city. As sharing only pictures made our page look dry, we started uploading videos with appropriate songs in the background. And that is what I guess turned the plate for us,” shares Manideep, who through his page ‘The Hungry Indians’ also gives a rating of the taste of the food, besides pricing.
Whenever on the road, Manideep’s eyes focus more on what kinds of shops or food places are around. “I’m very observant. However, since many recognise our food blog now, people started approaching us for promotion of their food places.”
Despite visiting and trying several cuisines and dishes in and around Hyderabad, Manideep, a Chartered Accountant by profession, shares that Telangana Spice Kitchen has been his favourite throughout. “I just love the food there and the fact that they have maintained the same standards over the years,” he shares.
The food blogger duo recently also took the ’90s kids down a memory lane with their stall called ‘Bachpan Ka Pyaar’ which was a show stealer at Soul Sante Hyderabad.
“We sold chocolates and toffees which were quite famous in our childhood but are no longer readily available in the market – like imli pops, small rasgullas, peechu mithai, buddi ke baal, ice pops, masala sodas and so on,” shares Manideep, adding that he sources these ’90s favourite sweets from villages and other States.
