Hyderabad: A thief was caught allegedly while breaking into a temple at Markendeya Nagar in Rajendranagar here on Thursday. He was thrashed by the locals and later handed over to the police.
The thief had sneaked into the compound and tried to steal valuables with the help of tools around 4 am. However, local residents heard sounds from the temple and rushed to the spot, and informed the police. By the time a Blue Colt team reached the spot, the locals caught the suspect and thrashed him before handing him over to the police.
The Mailardevpally police are investigating. They suspect the involvement of another thief too and are examining CCTV footage.
