Thief targeting function halls nabbed in Hyderabad
The arrested person, J Laxmi Narasimha Swamy alias Ravi Teja alias Laddu (27), a truck cleaner from LB Nagar and a native of Enugonda in Mahabubnagar district, was a school dropout who worked a radiology assistant in a private hospital in Mahabubnagar.
Hyderabad: The Saroornagar police on Friday arrested a man on charges of targeting guests attending weddings, birthdays and other events at function halls and stealing their bags and valuables. He was involved in 15 cases with the police recovering 17 tolas of gold ornaments from him.
The arrested person, J Laxmi Narasimha Swamy alias Ravi Teja alias Laddu (27), a truck cleaner from LB Nagar and a native of Enugonda in Mahabubnagar district, was a school dropout who worked a radiology assistant in a private hospital in Mahabubnagar.
“He looked for crowded function halls, where guests would be quite busy and in the absence of people in dressing rooms, he stole bags, gadgets and other valuables before escaping,” said Sunpreeth Singh, DCP (LB Nagar).
Recently, in the first week of February, he stole valuables of a guest at a wedding in a function hall at Champapet. Based on a complaint, the Saroornagar police booked a case and with the help of footage from surveillance cameras at the venue, identified Ravi Teja.
