Hyderabad: Thieves broke into Ayyappa Swamy temple at Medchal and decamped with cash from the collection box in the early hours of Thursday.

Police said, some unidentified persons entered into the compound and broke open the collection box placed in front of the deity and took away the cash. The temple authorities who noticed the damaged box alerted the cops.

The police reached the spot and are examining the footage from the surveillance cameras in the surroundings. Based on a complaint, a case was booked and being investigated.
