Thieves steal cash box from HDFC ATM in Hyderabad’s Jeedimetla
Thieves used a gas cutter to break into an HDFC Bank ATM centre in Jeedimetla’s Markandeya Nagar and stole the cash box, damaging one of two vending machines. Police have launched an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage.

Hyderabad: Thieves managed to break into an HDFC Bank ATM centre at Markandeya Nagar, Jeedimetla in the early hours of Wednesday by using a gas cutter, and stole the cash box. In the process, they damaged the cash vending machine. The stolen amount is yet to be estimated.
The incident came to light when customers noticed the damaged machine and informed the police and bank authorities. As per available information, there were two vending machines in the ATM centre and the offenders damaged one of them.
The Jeedimetla police booked a case and are examining footage from surveillance cameras to identify the offenders. The police advised bankers to take precautions and preventive measures in the wake of a series of ATM thefts in the suburbs of Hyderabad.
They warned that notices would be issued to bankers who did not abide by the rules and they would be advised to install CCTV cameras and alarm systems or security personnel.
