Thieves steal Rs 4.4 lakh from bike dickie in Mancherial

Mancherial: Unknown persons on Friday stole Rs 4.4 lakh kept in the dickie of a motorbike which was parked at a vegetable market in Bellampalli.

Police said unidentified persons decamped with the money belonging to Durgam Venkata Swamy from Batwanpalli village.

Swamy withdrew the money from an ATM kiosk and kept the notes in a packet in his two-wheeler.

He parked the motorbike and went to the market to buy vegetables.

He realised his money was stolen when he checked the packet after purchasing vegetables. He lodged a complaint with police and a case was registered.

The spot of the crime is crowded and reportedly near a traffic police island.
