Hyderabad: Comfy vs style in weddings is something that has always been debated about. Recently, we could see some quirky modifications to the wedding attires that left many surprised. Calling it a fusion of comfy and style, several couples were seen wearing sport shoes under ethnic wear like sherwani and lehengas.
However, this couple chose to completely disrupt the standard practices and turned up to their own reception in tracksuits! Yes, you read it right, they celebrated the gala day in tracksuits while the rest of the attendees were seen properly dressed.
However, as a fusion, the bride also donned a veil on her white sweat suit, which many netizens feel was the perfect way to disrupt the standard practices of wearing regular wedding clothes. Meanwhile, the groom wore a black hoodie and tracksuit pants.
The couple’s unique choice of wedding attire went viral on social media as wedding videographer Sarah Gonzalez of Wildwood Films shared a reel on Instagram. In the short reel, the newly-weds were seen dancing on the floor dressed in tracksuits.
“When you roll up to your wedding reception like…,” Sarah captioned adding, “I love when couples say screw tradition and find unique and fun ways to show their personalities on their wedding day and start new trends of their own.”
However, the clip, which has garnered over 733K likes, has now left the netizens divided. Some lauded the ‘sporty’ look while the others didn’t seem to quite approve of it.
“Yep let’s normalize wearing whatever we want at weddings, no one wants to spend thousands on a dress they only wear once(sic),” wrote an Instagram user.
While another user wrote: “Nah, I barely get to dress up so I rather dress up but be comfortable.. & whatever makes them happy(sic).”
Adding to the same comment, another wrote, “I would like to look different from what I wear everyday(sic).”
