Hyderabad: Did you know? There is a record for longest dog ears. Yes, A US woman’s black and tan coonhound from Oregon has earned itself a Guinness World Record for having the longest ears on a dog (living) – 13.38 inches (34 cm).
Lou, a 3-year-old canine, belongs to Paige Olsen, a veterinary technician who measured the ‘extravagantly long’ ears during Lou’s sheltering amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
“All black and tan coonhounds have beautiful long ears, some are just longer than others,” she said.
However, Paige cleared that Lou’s extra-long ears which reach till the tip of her nose, have not led to any medical complications yet. “It has actually turned her into a popular dog at competitions and dog shows. She has even earned titles from the American Kennel Club and Rally Obedience,” she said.
“Of course, everyone wants to touch the ears, they’re very easy to fall in love with just one sighting,” she adds.
Paige also shares with GWR website that Lou is even a “wonderful wine tasting companion” when she goes to vineyards with her friends.
Now, Lou’s unique quality will be featured in the Guinness World Record 2022 book.
