Hyderabad: Foodies, there’s a new food challenge in the town. While most of us are very much used to the informal pani puri eating contests, certain eateries are taking this up to a notch, by offering cash prizes.

If you’re an ultimate foodie, then take part in a food challenge thrown open to all in the city. Dakshin Gardens, a restaurant at Manikonda is daring customers to finish the massive Baahubali Thali in just 40 minutes and win a Rs 2,000 cash prize.

The food challenge involves only one person. While most thalis have a maximum of five to seven dishes, this thali (vegetarian and non-vegetarian) includes 28 dishes like two pot biryanis, ragi sangati, mutton, fish, papad, mirchi bajjis, curd, puris, rotis, ice cream, sweet and an array of other lip-smacking dishes.

“We wanted to bring a bit more excitement and something different. The idea was also to advertise our menu or meal. Having launched recently, many people have risen to the challenge so far. But only one has succeeded. A 30-year-old woman completed the thali in 30 minutes and won the cash prize,” said the restaurant owner adding that customers visiting from other States will be getting back their ticket or bus or flight fares if they win the contest.

Food lovers do love food and everything to do with it, but only a few of us have the appetite to eat large amounts of it with all speed. Would you be able to complete this challenge?
