Hyderabad: Actor Kiara Advani is now basking in the success of her recent film ‘Shershah’. Her performance was well-appreciated by many in the industry and was loved equally by the audience. Well, these words of positive appreciation for the actor didn’t come easily, she says.
Recalling her earlier films like ‘Machine’ and ‘Fugly’, which didn’t do well, the actor reveals how people in the industry would write her off. “There was a time when people would just write off my performances in my earlier films. But after ‘Kabir Singh’, ‘Good Newzz’ and other hit films, now people have started recognising and appreciating my work,” Kiara shares in an interview with ‘Bollywood Hungama’.
Talking about offers and rejections in the industry, the actor says she has learnt to “be thick skinned to be in a profession that is so pumping – which probably rejects and accepts you Friday-to-Friday. But it takes time to know your worth as an actor and believe in your craftsmanship and also to develop that thick skin. It gets very humid in your head when you start self-doubting if a film doesn’t do well. I learnt to shut the negativity off and just believed in myself,” the actor shares. The actor played the role of Vikram Batra’s lover Dimple Cheema in the recent biopic film ‘Shershah’. The film revolves around the heroic life led by the late Indian Military officer.
