This week’s OTT releases mix emotions, mystery and fun
This week’s OTT releases (July 21–27) bring a mix of emotions, thrillers, and light comedy, led by Sarzameen, Rangeen, Mandala Murders, and Happy Gilmore 2.
Hyderabad: From intense family drama to spooky thrillers and light comedies, OTT platforms have dropped some interesting content this week (July 21–27). Here’s a quick look at what’s new on Netflix, Prime Video and JioHotstar.
The most emotional watch this week is ‘Sarzameen’ on Netflix. Prithviraj Sukumaran and Kajol play a couple whose teenage son joins a rebel group. Set in conflict-hit Kashmir, the story shows how their world turns upside down overnight. It’s a heavy, emotional ride that deals with love, loss, and fear — all at once.
If you’re in the mood for something dark and twisted, ‘Rangeen’ might catch your attention. It stars Vineet Kumar Singh as a man struggling to move on after heartbreak. His choices take him into strange, messy spaces, and the film doesn’t shy away from showing uncomfortable truths.
On the thriller side, ‘MandalaMurders’ brings a slow-burn mystery. Vaani Kapoor plays a cop trying to solve a series of creepy killings in a quiet town. With hints of cult practices and hidden secrets, the show builds a chilling mood that pulls you in episode by episode.
For those looking for a light watch, there’s ‘HappyGilmore2’. Adam Sandler returns as the loud, quirky golfer in this sequel to the 1996 comedy. It’s silly, funny, and doesn’t take itself too seriously, perfect for when you just want to relax.
A few smaller titles have also dropped across platforms, including regional dramas and feel-good movies, but these four seem to be grabbing most of the buzz so far.
With no single theme running across the week, it’s a good mix of genres. Whether you’re looking for something emotional, mysterious or simply funny, this week’s OTT line-up has something different to offer.
