The festivities commenced with Disti Kumbha Baliharana in the early hours of Sunday. The celestial wedding also marked the beginning of the annual Brahmotsavams, which will continue for three consecutive months from Sunday.
Sundays during the Brahmotsavams are expected to attract a large number of devotees to the temple. Anticipating heavy footfall, the district administration and police made elaborate arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the festivities on the temple premises.
