Three arrested for extortion in Telangana’s Siddipet

Hyderabad: The Punjagutta police on Saturday arrested three persons for allegedly threatening and attempting to extort money from a man from Siddipet.
The arrested are Santosh Kumar (35), a mobile phone shop owner, Bandi Parsharamulu (34) car driver and Teljeer Vamshi Krishna (37) , the Arogyasree district manager.
The case is booked following a complaint by Gadhagoni Chakradhar Goud, a businessman and founder of Farmer’s First Foundation, at Punjagutta police station.
Goud alleged he was put under life threat, torture, and interference made in his personnel life through illegal surveillance by some persons working in conspiracy.
“Santosh Kumar obtained a SIM card illegally using the personal identity documents of an innocent villager and gave it to Parsharamulu and Vamshi Krishna. The duo conspired with other persons and using the SIM card used to send threatening messages to the Goud to extort money and also, to prevent him from indulging in his social activities in Siddipet,” K Vijay Kumar, DCP (west zone).
