Sangareddy: Narayankhed police arrested three persons in the sensational murder case of Shambanolla Muthyam Reddy (35) of Gangapur on Monday.

According to Inspector Srinivas Reddy, Reddy’s wife Kalpana (30) allegedly had a relationship with Ghani Pandari (24) for the past four years. Since her husband had warned her over the relationship, he had recently taken her to her parents’ home and tried to settle the issue. However, Kalpana allegedly refused to end the relationship and instead decided to kill her husband with the help of Pandari.

When Reddy visited Narayankhed on May 16, she informed her lover, who took him to his village Yelgoi in Manoor mandal on the pretext of getting his borewell motor repaired. However, Pandari allegedly took the help of his brother Vittal, offered Reddy liquor and later strangled him to death before burying the body in their fields.

Two days later, Kalpana filed a missing case at the Narayankhed police station, following which police launched an investigation and found that she had been speaking to Pandari every day. Kalpana had reportedly spoken to Pandari 16 times on May 16, the day Reddy was murdered. Police, who exhumed the body on Sunday, arrested the accused and produced them before a magistrate. They were later sent to judicial remand.
