Hyderabad: The Anti-Evasion unit of the Medchal Commissionerate, Commissioner of Central Tax, Central Excise & Service Tax on Wednesday booked cases against Gordhan Singh, Arjun Chowdhary and Kiran Chowdhary for fake invoices and evasion of GST.

The cases were booked for creating non-existent firms and issuing invoices without supplying goods and facilitating fraudulent availment of input tax credit by over 200 different firms and companies, thereby defrauding government revenue to the tune of Rs 67.76 crore, a press note said.

Investigations by the Anti-Evasion officers revealed that Gordhan Singh, Arjun Chowdhary and Kiran Chowdhary created around 11 bogus firms, either in their names or in the names of different individuals with monthly payments of meager amount, taking their IDs and taking registrations in their names.
