Hyderabad: Three girls allegedly committed suicide in separate incidents in the city on Tuesday. In the first incident, a teenaged girl died, allegedly by suicide, after she reportedly jumped from the 23rd floor of an apartment complex at Nanakramguda late on Monday. She is suspected to have been depressed over family problems, the police said.

The victim, identified as Esha Ranjan (17), an Intermediate student from a private college was staying on the 23rd floor of the multi-storied complex along with her mother. Police said Esha, who was depressed over personal problems, was believed to have jumped from the balcony of her house. She died on the spot. No suicide note was found from the spot.

The Gachibowli police have taken up investigation. The body was handed over to the family on Tuesday, after autopsy at the Osmania General Hospital morgue.

In the second incident, an intermediate student committed suicide by jumping from her college building at Mallepally in Habeebnagar here on Tuesday. The reason for the suicide was yet to be known, police said.

According to the police, the girl identified as Shifa Naaz (17) jumped from the corridor on the fourth floor of the college building, even as her friends and other students in the college were present.

“Other students alerted the college authorities, who rushed her to a private hospital in Nampally, where she was declared dead by the doctors,” the Habeebnagar police said, adding that no suicide note or anything indicating why the girl could have resorted to the extreme step was known. Enquiries were on with her family members and friends.

The body has been shifted to the Osmania General Hospital for autopsy.

In the third incident, an engineering final year student committed suicide by jumping from a multi-storied building at Maisammaguda in Petbasheerabad.
