Three major shooting competitions to be held in Hyderabad from August 18

The Telangana Rifle Association will host three major shooting competitions from August 18 to 21 at the OCTOPUS Shooting Range in Ibrahimpatnam, Hyderabad. The events will feature Big Bore and Super Big Bore competitions, bringing athletes and coaches from across India

Hyderabad: The Telangana Rifle Association (TRA) is all set to host three major shooting competitions from August 18 to 21, 2026, at the OCTOPUS Shooting Range, Ibrahimpatnam, Hyderabad.
The competitions are expected to bring together talented athletes, experienced coaches and members of the shooting fraternity from across the country.

The three competitions being conducted are: Second Telangana Big Bore Shooting Competition – 2026; Deccan Elite Open Big Bore Grand Prix – 2026; Second Super Big Bore Open Shooting Competition – 2026.

The competitions will provide athletes with an excellent platform to demonstrate their shooting skills, compete at a high level and gain valuable match experience in a professionally conducted sporting environment.
The events are also aimed at encouraging greater participation and strengthening the competitive culture of shooting sport in Telangana and beyond.
Mr. Amit Sanghi, Senior Vice President, National Rifle Association of India; President, Telangana Rifle Association; and Vice President, Telangana Olympic Association, said, “Every competition is an opportunity for an athlete to test their preparation, strengthen their confidence and move one step closer to excellence. I warmly welcome athletes, coaches and members of the shooting fraternity to Hyderabad and encourage them to make the best use of these three competitions.”

Mr Amit said, “Big Bore and Super Big Bore events demand exceptional discipline, technical skill, mental strength and complete control. These competitions have been planned to offer athletes a strong and competitive platform where they can challenge themselves, learn from one another and experience the true spirit of shooting sport.”

The Telangana Rifle Association acknowledged the invaluable contribution of coaches, technical officials, support teams, parents, arms and ammunition establishments, and all those who continuously work towards the development and promotion of shooting sport.
