Three-member burglary gang arrested in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Dundigal police arrested a three-member burglary gang involved in half-a-dozen cases at Bowrampet here on Wednesday. Police recovered gold and silver ornaments, electronic items and cash, altogether worth Rs 5 lakh from them.
The arrested persons were N Durgesh (31) from Shapurnagar in Quthbullapur, N Raju (40) from Dundigal and K Ganesh (24) from Jeedimetla. All of them were construction workers and natives of Nanded in Maharashtra.
Balanagar DCP PV Padmaja said the trio carried out a recce of residential colonies in secluded areas on the city outskirts and identified locked houses during the day. They returned to the areas post-midnight and broke into the houses using hand tools and burgled them. They were involved in cases in Cyberabad, including three in Dundigal police station limits.
“They are professionals in committing burglaries and targeted only houses where there was no surveillance camera. They also selected houses and industries that had no security guard,” the DCP said, adding that after committing offences, they hid the stolen booty. They were produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody.
