Three of family injured in Aug 6 LPG fire mishap succumb to injuries in Sangareddy

Sangareddy: A fire triggered by an LPG cylinder leakage turned into a major tragedy for a family in Yedakulpally of Jharasangam mandal, as a woman and her two sons succumbed to burn injuries over a span of 10 days while undergoing treatment.
According to locals, Gorrkenanti Shankaramma (65) was cooking on the morning of August 6 when gas leaked from the LPG cylinder, sparking a fire. Her sons, Prabhu (38) and Vittal (30), suffered burns while trying to rescue her.
The three were first treated at a local hospital and later shifted to a private facility in Patancheru. Shankaramma died on August 8, Prabhu died on August 15, and Vittal succumbed on Monday morning after battling for life for 12 days.
Shankaramma’s husband, Bakkanna (70), performed the funerals of all three. The incident has left the entire village in shock. Villagers have appealed to the government to provide financial assistance to the family.
Prabhu is survived by his wife and a 14-month-old son, while Vittal was unmarried.
