Adilabad: Three persons were arrested for allegedly murdering a driver here on Tuesday. Police seized a knife, three mobile phones and a scooter from their possession.
Briefing details of the arrests to the media persons, Adilabad DSP Jeevan Reddy said that Govind Karthik, a private employee, Chelkala Praveen, a driver and Davula Sai Kiran, a ceiling worker, all from different parts of the town, were apprehended while moving suspiciously during a vehicle check.
The victim was Kommavar Ravi Teja (26) of the town.
On interrogation, Kartheek confessed to committing the murder by nursing a grudge against Ravi Teja as he refused to join his gang, with the help of Praveen and Kiran. He admitted to stabbing neck of Teja seven times when he was returning home in inebriated condition.
He disclosed that he formed a gang to make a fast buck to lead a lavish lifestyle.
Jeevan Reddy said that Kartheek was previously involved in six crimes, while five cases were booked against Sai Kiran. He stated that rowdy-sheets would be opened against the two. claimed that the police unraveled by the mystery behind the murder within six hours.
He commended Adilabad II town Inspector Karunakar Rao, his staffers, Inspectors Sunil, Chandrashekhar, Sainath for quickly nabbing the accused persons.
