Three persons arrested for poaching spotted deer in Asifabad
Forest officials arrested three persons for poaching a spotted deer using an electrified fence in Penchikalpet mandal on Thursday. Two more accused are absconding. The arrested men confessed to selling deer meat and were remanded to judicial custody.
Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Three persons were arrested for poaching a spotted deer by setting up an electrified fence in a canal on the outskirts of Lodpalli village in Penchikalpet mandal on Thursday. Two more accused persons were absconding.
Penchikalpet Forest Range Officer Anil said the accused were identified aa Gaddam Srisailam, Naini Poshanna and Reddy Rajam, all from Adipelli village. Segam Sudhakar belonging to Lodpalli and Gaddam Siddesh of Adipelli were still at large. All of them were habitual offenders, officials said.
During interrogations, the three confessed to committing the crime to make a fast buck by selling the deer’s meat to villagers. They disclosed that they had been hunting wild animals by laying electrified and iron fences at water bodies and canals in different parts of Kagaznagar division for quite a long time.
They were produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
