Khammam: Three persons allegedly hanged themselves at different places in erstwhile Khammam district.

In an incident at Lankapalli village of Penuballi mandal in Khammam district, the bodies of a man and a woman were found hanging from the ceiling of a dilapidated house on the outskirts of the village on Thursday.

The deceased, Pachhinilla Dharmaiah (30) and Injamalla Krishna Veni (27), both married, having spouse and two kids each, were said to be in love with each other and left their houses and families on August 26. Their suicide came to light when an elderly woman living in the dilapidated house returned from a trip to her relatives on Thursday. She was struck by the foul odour coming from the decomposed dead bodies and fell unconscious.

After coming to senses, she alerted the villagers who in turn alerted the police. Kallur ACP Venkatesh and VM Banjar CI Karunakar inspected the spot. Police booked a case and launched an investigation into the incident.

Sources said Krishna Veni’s husband, I Lalaiah (30), attempted suicide on Aug 26 by consuming poison after his wife left the house with Dharmaiah and died while undergoing treatment on Aug 29.

In another suicide case, G Aruna (45) hanged herself at her house in the early hours of Thursday at Tallagommuru village of Burgampadu mandal in Kothagudem district. She was said to be suffering from cancer for the past two years and hence took the extreme step, police said.
