Three poachers from Andhra arrested, country-made weapons seized in Kothagudem

Kothagudem: Forest officials of Aswaraopet range in the district on Wednesday arrested three poachers from Andhra Pradesh and seized two country-made firearms from their possession.
It was said that some people from Kamavaram village in Buttaigudem mandal of Eluru district of AP came to the Aswaraopet forests with firearms to poach wild animals. The locals who spotted them near Kantlam village informed forest officials. Kavadigundla section officer, Kantlam beat officer and base camp staff rushed to the village and detained them; brought them to Aswaraopet forest range office for questioning. The accused, Karam Ravi, Kama Mangababu and Vanjam Naveen confessed to the officials that they had come to the Aswaraopet forests to poach wildlife.
The accused would be booked under relevant forest acts and would be produced before the court, officials said.
