Hyderabad: A three-year-old girl died while three others – both her parents and cab driver -sustained serious injuries when the car they were travelling in got involved in a head-on collision with a private bus at Tank Bund Road on Wednesday morning.
The victim identified as Sree (3) was travelling in the cab along with her father Dussa Shiva Kumar (33), who works as a manager with a construction company, and mother Samanya (30), a software professional, to Secunderabad railway station from Raidurgam at the time of accident.
According to the police, the cab driver Kaushik (28) was going at a high speed and intended to overtake another vehicle heading towards the Ranigunj from Telugu Thalli side when he lost control over his car and rammed into a private bus coming in the opposite direction. The bus driver veered the steering to avoid collision, but since the cab was at a high speed, it rammed on to the right front side of the bus.
“The child sustained serious head injuries and died on the spot. Three occupants of the car sustained injuries are undergoing treatment at different hospitals. The accident took place due to the negligence of the cab driver,” said the Gandhinagar Inspector, N Mohan Rao.
On information, the police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to a private hospital for treatment. The police registered a case and are investigating.
The police with the help crane clearedd the vehicles from the accident spot.
