Tiger sighted in Telangana’s Sirpur (T) forests, triggers pani
Locals reported that a tiger has been roaming between the forest and nearby farms, disrupting agricultural activities. They urged forest officials to take measures to prevent human casualties and closely monitor the tiger's movements. The villagers expressed their frustration, stating that they have been forced to delay farming activities due to the tiger's presence.
Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A tiger was sighted in the forests and agriculture fields of Hudkili village in Sirpur (T) mandal, triggering panic among villagers on Monday.
Locals said that a tiger was moving in the forest and in the farms sometimes, affecting agriculture activities. They requested the forest officials to take steps to prevent human loss and to divert to track movement of the tiger. They regretted that they were postponing agriculture activities due to the movement of the tiger.
Forest officials said that a female tiger from the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve might have drifted towards the forests of Sirpur (T). They stated that movement of the tiger was being tracked by deploying animal trackers and CCTV camera traps. They requested the villagers not to enter farms till 10 am and leave fields by 4 pm, besides moving in groups.
On November 29, Morle Lakshmi (21) was mauled by a tiger to death while she was engaged in harvesting the cotton crop at Easgaon village in Kagaznagar mandal of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district. The same tiger was suspected to have attacked Rauthu Suresh at Dubbagudem village in Sirpur (T) mandal on November 30.
