Mancherial/Kumram Bheem Asifabad: The sighting of a tiger at a stream on the outskirts of Chinnagudipet village in Kannepalli mandal, Mancherial, on Sunday created flutter among rural folk in the area.
Rebbena Forest Range Officer Purnima said the carnivore inhabiting the forests of Kumram Bheem Asifabad drifted towards Kannepalli and Bheemini mandals by crossing Peddavagu stream. She said the movements of the tiger were being tracked and awareness was being created among the residents of nearby villages. Pugmarks of the big cat were recorded during a visit to the spot. “It should return to its territory soon,” she said.
Earlier, a tiger killed two bullocks when they were grazing in the forests on the outskirts of Murliguda village in Penchikalpet mandal on Saturday. The cattle belonged to Sidam Bapu of Murliguda. A tiger is believed to have made the forests of Murliguda, Gundepalli, Agarguda, Lodpalli and Kondpalli villages its home for quite a long time.
