Lakshmi Sree and Sai Akshita being felicitated by coach Salam Bayash at Legala Cricket Academy, Lingampally.
Hyderabad: Salam Bayash, one of the most unassuming cricket coaches who moulded the raw talent of Tilak Varma into a champion cricketer at Legala Cricket Academy in Lingampally, felicitated teenage all-rounders Charvi Lakshmi Sree and Naga Sai Akshita on being selected for the BCCI women’s under-19 one-day cricket championship to be held in Lucknow from December 13.
Salam, who takes pride in his commitment and passion to train young talent, rarely seeking ‘publicity’, says the two young cricketers have a bright future.
“If the early spark is any indication, Lakshmi and Akshita are going to make it big. They have the talent and the willingness to keep learning and improving,” Salam said.
“Well, India winning the recent ODI Women’s World Cup has only encouraged many girls to look at cricket seriously, and even the parents are showing greater interest now. This is a welcome feature,” he said.
“If these two young, talented cricketers get the right kind of exposure at the right time and they complement each other with the desired hard work, they can go to places,” Salam said.
Academy Directors Prithvi Reddy, Naveen Reddy, Praveen Reddy and Ramesh Reddy also congratulated the duo on their achievement.
