Tirupati: Govindaraja Temple Gopuram to be covered with 100 kg gold layer

Tirumala: The Vimana Gopuram of Sri Govindarajaswami temple in Tirupati will be completely covered with gold, using 100 kg. of the precious metal, according to a release of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD).
Anjanadri, the birthplace of Sri Anjaneya, will be developed installing a huge idol of Hanuman and pictorial depiction of his life story. Also, the Tarigonda Vengamamba samadhi will be developed into a Brundavanam, it said.
The TTD is holding discussions with the TCS to ensure there are no server problems, the release revealed.
The number of visitors to Tirumala is also increasing with 5.32 lakh devotees having darshan during July. The hundi collection during the month was Rs.55.58 crore and e-Hundi collection was Rs.51.97 lakh. The revenue through laddu sales was Rs.35.26 lakh while 7.13 lakh devotees had annaprasadam.
