Hyderabad: With an aim to encourage students and youth from the rural areas of the State, Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) has appointed a class 10 student from a government school on one of its key panels.

TITA announced the appointment of Srija, a class X student from ZP High School Chintalakunta in Gadwal district as the joint secretary of startups and innovation chapter of the association. The association’s president Sundeep Kumar Makthala said Srija, who hails from a remote village, received motivation and encouragement from the association and went on to demonstrate before the parliamentary panel about her work.

“Her appointment on TITA’s startups and innovation chapter will provide another platform for the student’s development,” he said. The association has also appointed Bhachu Ravi Teja Gupta as the secretary of the startups and innovation chapter.

Srija with the help of her teacher Agustin took up various innovations and demonstrated her work before the Parliament Committee on Information Technology in 2021. The girl student has made biopots from a unique dough made of groundnut shells, which are biodegradable and an effective alternative to black plastic bags used in nurseries for saplings. She had joined hands with T-Works that has helped her in making a custom-built machine to manufacture these pots.

Ravi Teja Bachu has been working in the area of startups and entrepreneurship for over 10 years and he was among the fifteen finalists from thousands of applicants from across the country at the Startup Leadership Program. He was TEDx campus leader and served as an idea coach.

Those interested to join the TITA Startups and Innovation Chapter can contact the association at 8123123434.
