Hyderabad: The Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers (TNGOs) union (Central Hyderabad) has demanded that the State government sack Mahabubnagar Agriculture Market Committee vice-chairman M Vijay Kumar for attacking market committee secretary Bhaskar on Wednesday.
Vijay Kumar had directed Bhaskar to offer uniforms to women labourers who did not have licenses. As per rules, uniforms are offered to labourers who have licenses. When Bhaskar cited this and refused to offer uniforms to the women labourers, stating it was against rules, the Committee vice-chairman had allegedly slapped and used abusive language.
Taking serious objection to Vijay Kumar’s conduct, the Market Committee employees lodged a complaint with II Town Police, who registered a case. Later, fearing further attacks, the employees closed the market committee gates.
Condemning Vijay Kumar’s behaviour and attack on Bhasker, the TNGO members and employees on Thursday staged lunch hour protests and sported black badges. They also submitted a representation to District Collector Viziendira Boyi demanding stern action against Vijay Kumar.
The TNGO Central union also demanded the State government to sack Vijay Kumar from the post. The union also wanted the government to initiate stern action against Vijay Kumar, failing which protests would be staged across the State.
