Toddler drowns in gated community pool at KPHB

A three-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool at a gated community in KPHB, Hyderabad, on Sunday. The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.

Hyderabad: A toddler died after drowning in a swimming pool at a gated community complex at KPHB in the city on Sunday.

According to the police, Arjun Kumar (3) lived with his parents in the Chintal locality. On Sunday morning, his parents dropped him off at his grandmother’s house and went to work.

“The boy, who was in a playful mood, came out of the house and went towards the swimming pool. As there were no caretakers or staff around, he slipped into the pool and drowned,” said a KPHB police officer.

The grandmother of the boy, after noticing the child was missing, began searching for him. After an hour of frantic searching, the body of Arjun was found in the swimming pool. The body was later retrieved and shifted to the mortuary for post-mortem examination. The police have registered a case and are investigating.
