Karimnagar: Collector RV Karnan has asked officials to give top priority for dairy units to be started by beneficiaries under Dalit Bandhu scheme. He wanted the officials to speed up the grounding of Dalit Bandhu units in Huzurabad constituency. The Collector conducted a meeting with the officials of Dalit Bandhu units’ grounding committee at Collectorate conference hall here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Karnan instructed officials to take steps to speed up the grounding of units and motivate beneficiaries to choose dairy units and impart training to them. Besides preparing the village wise list of dairy units, beneficiaries should be taken to Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka to purchase buffaloes with the help of Karimnagar and Vijaya dairies’ representatives.

He directed the lead bank manager to provide required training to beneficiaries who have chosen centering units, fertilizer shops, medical shops and mini supermarkets through Self Employment Talent Utilization (SETU). Advising the beneficiaries to get benefits by running units sanctioned under dalit bandhu to them, Collector warned to cancel units if anybody sold units to others. He instructed motor vehicle inspector to register recently grounded excavators, harvesters and DCM vans on the names of beneficiaries immediately.

Asking officials not to create troubles to beneficiaries while grounding the units, he warned to register criminal cases against the officials if any demand money from beneficiaries. Units grounding committee officials including V Sridhar (district agriculture officer), Srinivas (deputy director, horticulture), Priyadarshini (project director, ATMA), Suresh (executive director, SC corporation), Laman (lead bank manager), Siraj (MVI Huzurabad) and others participated in the meeting.
