Tractor driver from MH arrested for murdering rag picking woman in Adilabad
Police in Adilabad arrested a man from Maharashtra for allegedly strangling a rag-picking woman after she resisted sexual assault, solving the case within 48 hours using CCTV footage and technical evidence

Adilabad: Police solved the mystery behind the death of a rag-picking woman, who was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a drain at Punjab Chowk here three days ago, with the arrest of a man from Maharashtra on Monday.
SP Akhil Mahajan said that Narsinga Santhoba Gampalwad, a tractor driver from Nanded district in Maharashtra, was nabbed for strangling the woman, identified as Anitha, after trying to rape her when she was asleep on the night of April 24. The police managed to crack the case within 48 hours with the help of technology, particularly CCTV cameras, he claimed.
During interrogation, Narsinga confessed to murdering the woman under the influence of liquor and in a fit of rage. He said he killed her as she resisted when he took her to a secluded place and attempted to sexually assault her. He revealed that he strangled her and then dumped her body in a nearby drain.
