Trade unions demand arrest of Sigachi management; seek inquiry by HC judge
CITU urges Telangana government to expedite the release of the promised Rs 1 crore ex gratia to the families of each victim without any further delay

Sangareddy: Members of various trade unions, who visited the Sigachi Chloro Chemicals Private Limited mishap site on Sunday, demanded the immediate arrest of the company’s management, holding them directly responsible for the incident.
The union members met with the families of the victims at the site and expressed solidarity with those affected by the tragedy. Speaking to reporters, CITU general secretary Paladugu Bhaskar demanded that the government order a transparent investigation into the incident, to be conducted by a sitting High Court judge to ensure accountability and justice.
He also urged the government to expedite the release of the promised Rs. 1 crore ex gratia to the families of each victim without any further delay. The trade union leaders further demanded strict action against government officials whose negligence may have contributed to the mishap.
Members of AITUC, IFTU, BRTU, TNTUC, TUCI and other unions participated in the protest. The delegation also interacted with Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj and other officials to enquire about the progress of the rescue and investigation efforts.
