Trader arrested for abetment of employee’s suicide in Asifabad
A trader in Asifabad was arrested for allegedly abetting the suicide of his 23-year-old employee over a Rs.10,000 loan. The victim’s family staged a protest, accusing the trader of harassment and misuse of political influence.
Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A grains trader and known follower of MLC Dande Vittal was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly abetting the suicide of his employee in Penchikalpet mandal centre.
According to police, Rachakonda Krishna of Penchikalpet mandal headquarters was apprehended for allegedly harassing his accountant, Tummidi Rajashekhar (23) of Agarguda village, over the repayment of a Rs.10,000 loan. A case of abetment to suicide has been registered against Krishna following a complaint from Rajashekhar’s family.
Rajashekhar, reportedly feeling humiliated after being verbally abused by Krishna, consumed pesticide in his village on Monday evening. He was rushed to a hospital in Kagaznagar and later shifted to a private hospital in Karimnagar, where he died while undergoing treatment on Tuesday evening.
Later that evening, Rajashekhar’s family and relatives staged a protest in front of Krishna’s residence, demanding action against him for allegedly driving the youngster to take the extreme step. They also accused Krishna of harassing locals by claiming political influence as a close associate of MLC Vittal.
