Trader held in Adilabad for selling fake branded rice
In Adilabad, a trader was arrested for selling counterfeit branded rice by repackaging Public Distribution System (PDS) supplies. Authorities seized six quintals of rice from his auto-rickshaw.
Adilabad: A trader was arrested for duping the public by selling fake branded rice sourced through the Public Distribution System (PDS) here on Thursday. An auto-rickshaw with six quintals of rice was seized from him.
Police said that Shaik Ayub was apprehended for selling counterfeit branded rice to customers. He admitted to cheating the public by converting PDS rice into a popular branded variety. He confessed to committing the offence to make quick money.
Police have requested revenue officials to seize the outlet of the trader.
