Hyderabad: To facilitate visitors at the popular Tank Bund on Sundays and for smooth regulation of traffic, the Hyderabad Traffic Police will put in place restrictions on the Upper Tank Bund stretch between 5 pm to 10 pm every weekend.
Accordingly, traffic from Liberty towards Upper Tank Bund will be diverted at Ambedkar Statue towards Telugu Talli flyover and Iqbal Minar and traffic from Telugu Talli towards Upper Tank Bund will be diverted towards Liberty and Himayathnagar. Likewise, vehicles from Karbala Maidan towards Upper Tank Bund will not be allowed and will be diverted at Sailing Club towards Kavadiguda DBR Mills – Lower Tank bund – Katta Maisamma Temple – Telugu Talli Flyover.
Officials said traffic from DBR Mills towards Upper Tank Bund will be diverted at DBR Mills towards Goshala – Kavadiguda – Jabbar Complex and Bible House. Traffic coming from Iqbal Minar towards Secunderabad will be diverted at Old Secretariat towards Telugu Talli flyover.
The police is also arranging parking places for visitors. These will be from the Ambedkar Statue side towards Lepakshi, Dr.Cars, New MLA Quarters, Adarshnagar and near Secretariat. The parking places for those coming from Karbala Maidan side will be from Sailing Club to Children’s Park, Buddha Bhavan backside towards PVNR Marg and NTR Garden.
The Traffic Police have urged motorists to avoid the Tank Bund route while traveling to other places and to take alternative routes instead on Sundays.
