Hyderabad: Prime Video has released the trailer of its Telugu original film Uppu Kappurambu, a satirical comedy set in a fictional South Indian village facing a strange problem: no space left for burials. The film premieres on July 4 in India and across 240+ countries and territories.
Directed by Ani IV Sasi and produced by Radhika Lavu under Ellanar Films, the film stars Keerthy Suresh, Suhas, Babu Mohan, Shatru, and Talluri Rameshwari. It will stream in Telugu with dubs in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and subtitles in 12 languages.
Set in the 1990s, the film follows Apoorva (Keerthy), a new village head facing resistance from locals for being a woman in power. She teams up with Chinna (Suhas), a quirky graveyard caretaker, leading to unexpected chaos and humour.
“The film blends satire and heart,” said Keerthy. Suhas added, “It’s quirky, emotional and full of surprises.”
Uppu Kappurambu promises a fresh, humorous take on rural life and governance, with a strong emotional core.
