Siddipet: Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Thursday said the train services may be operated from Siddipet by the end of 2022 since works on the Manoharabad-Gajwel-Siddpet-Kothapally will be completed upto Siddipet town by then.
Talking to officials during a review meeting on the progress of the railway line at the District Collectorate here, the Minister asked the Railway officials to invite tenders for the 17-km stretch railwayline from Duddeda to Siddipet town within a week. The works will be taken up with an outlay of Rs 225 crore.
Stating that the officials had acquired 719 acres out of 759 acres needed for the railway line in Siddipet district, Rao said asked the revenue officials to expedite the process of acquiring the remaining 40 acres of land. Railway officials said the tenders for building Siddipet Railway Station were stalled because of the lockdown. They informed that they will invite the bids for the project post lockdown.
Deputy Chief Engineer South Central Railway Sadarama Naidu said that they were aiming to complete the railway works from Gajwel to Kodakandla by the end of 2021.
The Finance Minister asked all the concerned officials to expedite the works related to the railway line. Collector Siddipet P Venkatarami Reddy, Additional Collector Muzammil Khan, RDO Anantha Reddy, Thesildar Vijay, Railway officials Somaraju and Dharma Rao were present.
