Trial run of Bibi-Ka-Alam procession held in Hyderabad’s Old City
Organisers of the Bibi ka Alam procession, in coordination with Hyderabad City Police, conducted a trial run in the Old City on Saturday. Elephant Sreedevi, brought from Kerala, traversed the traditional route ahead of the Muharram procession scheduled for June 26.

HYDERABAD: A trial run of the Bibi-Ka-Alam procession was taken out in the Old City on Saturday by the organisers of the procession.
The elephant Sreedevi was arranged from Kerala and arrived in the city three days ago.
The organisers of the procession, along with the Hyderabad City police, as a practice, conducted a trial run on the procession route to familiarise the jumbo with the atmosphere that prevails during the procession.
The elephant passed through Yakutpura Bada Bazaar Road, Etebar Chowk, Alijah Kotla, Charminar, Gulzar Houz, Panjesha, Mandi Miralam and Darulshifa.
Hyderabad Commissioner of Police, VC Sajjanar, and Joint Commissioner of Police, Tafseer Iqubal, and other officers were present at the Bibi ka Alawa.
The main procession will be taken out on the 10th day of the Muharram, coinciding with 26 June.
