Sangareddy: Protesting against the statement of union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Bishweshwar Tudu in Lok Sabha, several tribal organisations have staged protests across Sangareddy, Siddipet, and Medak districts on Wednesday. During the ongoing Lok Sabha session, the union Minister misleadingly said that they have not received any proposal from the Telangana government for enhancing the reservations for tribals in the State. The TRS Party MPs in Lok Sabha and the State government have condemned his statement saying that the government indeed has sent a proposal.

In the wake of this development, Tribal leaders have burnt an effigy of Bharatiya Janata Party in Andole accusing the saffron Party-led government acting against the interests of the tribals in Telangana. Speaking on the occasion, Ramesh Nayak demanded the Centre to accept the reservation bill sent by the Telangana government after passing in the State Assembly. He has said that the tribals in Telangana will stage a series of protests to highlight the failures of the union government and force them to pass the bill. Similar protests were organised across the erstwhile Medak district condemning the union Minister Tudu’s statements.
