Hyderabad: The scars of the 2013 Dilsukhnagar bomb blasts were still afresh in the mind of bereaved family members of those who died in the incident apart from the injured.
Every year, the family members recall the trauma they faced after the incident that snuffed out the lives of 18 people and left 131 injured in the two deadly explosions in Dilsukhnagar on February 21, 2013. The injured in the incident are still suffering from the pain.
In 2016, the special court for NIA cases awarded death sentence to five operatives of the Indian Mujahideen (IM) in connection with the bomb blasts case.
Coinciding with the eighth anniversary of the incident, the Anti-Terrorism Forum (ATF) on Sunday paid tributes to the victims at the bomb blasts site. The ATF under the leadership of convener Ravinuthala Shashidhar and others demanded that the government enact tough laws, such as the POTA, to crackdown extremist terrorism and prohibit organisations providing assistance to terrorists in Hyderabad.
They demanded the police arrest those residing illegally in the city and send them back to their respective countries. The government should render proper assistance to affected families, they said.
