Trickster arrested, gold ornaments seized in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The city police on Friday arrested a trickster for allegedly luring gullible people and making away with their gold ornaments by diverting their attention.

Aftab Ahmad Shaik alias Aftab (39), a fruit vendor and resident of Yousufain Colony in Chandrayanagutta, committed 23 offences in Hyderabad, Nizamabad and Karimnagar districts since 2007.

Gold ornaments weighing 33 tulas, a bike and net cash of Rs 20,000, all worth Rs 18.50 lakh were seized from his possession.
