One year to being caged, Lockdown Shorts at the Bandra Film Festival enthrall audiences
Exactly a year back, the pandemic brought the entire world to a grinding halt. Everything had to be shut down to combat the virus. One of the biggest industries that was affected was the film industry. Our actors, directors, technicians who were used to working round the clock on sets, had been in a state of lockdown for almost a year. But nothing stopped them from doing what they love, making films!
‘Bandra Film Festival, a digital film festival presented by Filmkaravan in collaboration with YouTube will be showcasing four films that celebrate the passion and hardwork of filmmakers, actors, directors and everyone involved in making a movie, undeterred, despite these challenging times.
On March 23, “Lockdown Shorts”, showcased these four new discoveries — Trivedi Ji starring Vartika Tiwari directed by Rajesh Tailang, Limbo starring Saransh Mohite directed by Priyanka Dhanjal, Onekta starring Himon Ghosh, Sohini Ghosh directed by A.I.Creation and Ek Mulaqat Aise Hi directed by Rajdip Ray, on the Bandra Film Festival Youtube Channel- youtube.com/bandrafilmfestival. All these films were shot during lockdown from the confines of everyone’s home.
Talking about the lockdown and showcasing these films at BBF, their film programmer Sugandha Makhijani said, “It’s exactly a year since this virus came and put the whole world to a grinding halt, during this time there were some amazing actors who turned directors and made short films keeping the scenario in mind, through BFF our goal is to celebrate these amazing human beings who kept entertaining us even in the lockdown without detering deter us. These films kept their spirits high.”
