Nalgonda: TRS activists on Wednesday took out protest rallies and burnt the effigy of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his remarks on formation of Telangana State.

In Nalgonda, the TRS members, under the leadership of local MLA Kancherla Bhupal Reddy, took out a bike rally from Marriguda bypass road to Clock Tower centre. Large number of youth participated in the rally by holding black flags. They also burnt the effigy of Narendra Modi at the centre amid slogans against him.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhupal Reddy said that Narendra Modi has insulted the entire people of the State by making irrelevant comments on formation of Telangana state. He reminded that Telangana State was achieved through prolonged agitation and sacrifices of hundreds of youth. The comments of Narendra Modi have hurt the sentiments of people of Telangana State, he added. He reminded that Narendra Modi government has not fulfilled a single promise made to Telangana State in AP Reorganization Act in the last seven and half years. Moreover, the Centre has merged seven mandals of Telangana into residual Andhra Pradesh state.

In Suryapet, the TRS members took out a bike rally from bathukamma chowrstha to Telangana Thalli statue on MG road and burnt the effigy of Narendra Modi. The salon shop workers were also attended their work by holding black ribbons to their shirts. Advocates were also staged protest demonstration near old bus stand demanding the Prime Minister to render apology to the people of Telangana State for his remarks on formation of separate State.
